Dr. Tammy White-Jolivette is the founder of "The Texture of Me®" and "The Texture of Me Healing™" where psychology, textured-hair education, identity, and emotional wellbeing intersect. With over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry and a PhD in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Jolivette brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to professional education, research, coaching, and emotional wellness. Her published research explores African American women's experiences with natural textured hair and its relationship to identity, social expectations, and personal empowerment. She is the author of "Tangled Emotions™: The Hair & Healing Language Guide" and the creator of "Post-Traumatic Hair Syndrome® (PTHS®), an emerging conceptual framework examining hair-related emotional distress. Through professional training, speaking engagements, beauty brand collaborations, dermatology partnerships, and supportive services, Dr. Jolivette is committed to advancing education, culturally responsive practices, and emotional wellbeing. Her mission is to help individuals and organizations recognize that hair is more than appearanceit is connected to identity, experience, and emotional wellbeing.
